I love browsing in bookstores, and like most people I’m drawn to the tables and displays in the front of stores showing bestsellers and all the books the neighbors are reading. But did you ever notice that when an online bookseller suggests books you might like, they’re the same books you’ve seen in bookstores, and on Oprah? Ever wonder why everyone seems to be reading the same few books?
There are great books out there–beautifully written, funny, terrifying, thought-provoking books–that get moved to the remainder table, or go out of print, far too quickly. I think the books deserve better. The writers deserve better. You can dig for the less common books in small press catalogs and on sale tables, or you can come here. Take a look around; see if anything seems worth staying up late for, reading until your eyes get blurry.
Many thanks for the kind words about *True Crime*. So glad you liked it. D.
